TERMS
Terms of Service
Effective and last updated: September 9, 2026
These Terms govern use of the hosted Capsulet service at capsulet.org. By creating an account or using the hosted service, you agree to them. Questions can be sent to accounts@capsulet.org.
The service
Capsulet provides a control plane for connecting authorized Machines, Capsules, Runtimes, Devices, notifications, and explicitly published artifacts. Stock Codex remains the coding interface and source of truth for Codex threads and transcripts. Google and GitHub are optional authentication methods only in the current product; their temporary provider access tokens are not retained.
Accounts and security
You must provide accurate account information, keep your email account, Devices, Machines, passwords, and other credentials secure, and promptly revoke access that is lost or no longer authorized. You are responsible for activity performed through credentials and systems under your control. Do not share one-time links, pairing grants, or access credentials with people you do not intend to authorize.
Acceptable use
You may not use Capsulet to violate law or another person's rights; gain unauthorized access to systems or data; distribute malware; interfere with or overload the service; evade security, ownership, rate-limit, or access controls; probe other users' resources; or facilitate abusive, fraudulent, or deceptive activity. You may not use the service with Machines, workspaces, software, or data that you do not have permission to access and operate.
Your Machines, workspaces, and data
You remain responsible for connected Machines, local workspaces, software, backups, network access, commands, approvals, generated output, and compliance with licenses and third-party obligations. Capsulet is not a backup service. Using remote or resume does not upload workspace contents or Codex transcripts to the Capsulet control plane, but a supported feature you intentionally invoke—such as artifact publication or a notification action—processes the data explicitly required for that feature.
You retain whatever rights you have in your data. You authorize the service to process it only as needed to provide, secure, maintain, and troubleshoot the features you use.
Availability and changes
The hosted service is provided without a service-level commitment. It may be unavailable because of maintenance, faults, security response, provider outages, or changes to the project. Features may change, be suspended, or be discontinued. You are responsible for maintaining local access and backups appropriate to your work.
Third-party and open-source software
The Capsulet source repository is open-source software distributed under its stated Apache License 2.0. That software license governs copying, modification, and distribution of covered source code; these Terms separately govern use of the hosted capsulet.org service. Dependencies and third-party services—including Codex, Google, GitHub, Firebase, operating systems, and network or email providers—have their own licenses and terms. Capsulet does not grant rights to third-party software or services.
Suspension and termination
You may stop using the service and may contact accounts@capsulet.org about account closure. Access may be suspended or terminated when reasonably necessary to address a Terms violation, security risk, legal requirement, harm to other users or infrastructure, prolonged abandonment, or discontinuation of the hosted service. Revocation or termination may invalidate sessions and account, Machine, Farm Manager, or Device credentials. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination, including responsibility, disclaimers, and applicable legal obligations, remain effective.
No warranty
To the extent allowed by applicable law, the hosted service and open-source software are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of availability, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or error-free operation. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Limitation of responsibility
To the extent allowed by applicable law, the service operator is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss, or for loss of data, profits, opportunity, or access arising from use or unavailability of the service. This limitation does not apply where liability cannot lawfully be limited.
Governing terms and contact
These Terms are governed by applicable law, including any mandatory consumer, data-protection, and jurisdiction rules that apply to you. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply. Questions, notices, and account requests should be sent to accounts@capsulet.org.
Changes to these Terms
These Terms may be updated when the hosted service or applicable requirements change. The update date above will identify the current version. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance only to the extent permitted by applicable law.
